We live close enough to Kananaskis Country that we have camped and gone for day trips there several times.
In 2017, we had a great time camping there for the weekend with friends. This weekend was the start of our vacation; we carried on after the weekend to Clearwater B.C. https://ourhotelonwheels.ca/2021/04/15/wells-grey-provincial-park/.
The weather was great and the company even better. The food was delicious except for the steaks we BBQ’d which “got away on us” and ended up being over cooked. Our friends graciously ate them without a word, but we were mortified!
Our first s’mores of the season was with them.
My husband can have neck and shoulder issues and our friend showed him some stretches to assist. He was grateful for these stretches as they helped on the long drive out to B.C.
We hiked, walked, chatted over the fire, and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend camping with our friends.
Our friends’ camping excursions typically take them to B.C. or Washington but we sure hope to camp again with them sometime. At the moment, our private campsite does not allow visitors due to Covid, but hopefully that will change soon.
