Splashing About In British Columbia

Ainsworth Hot Springs

We loves hot springs and have planned  RV vacations around hot springs: Ainsworth Hot Springs one year; Halcyon Hot Springs and Fairmont Hot Springs another year.

All these hot springs are in British Columbia and all are naturally sourced.

Ainsworth Hot Springs features a cave connected to the pool part of the springs. Exploring the lighted 160 foot cave allows you the opportunity to get up close with limestone stalactites. The water in the hot springs pool is a comfortable 35C and there is a cold plunge pool available if you over heat. As we were returning from a (rare) non-RV road trip at the time, we stayed in a hotel. However, there are numerous campgrounds and RV parks in the area. https://www.nelsonkootenaylake.com/stay/camping

Arrow Lake

Halcyon Hot Springs is located on upper Arrow Lake.  Halcyon Hot Springs has since been completely renovated and no longer offers RV sites; however it has park models, cabins, and other accommodation. Its’ water is so pure it is drinkable! https://new.halcyon-hotsprings.com/hot-springs/

“Used for centuries by local First Nations, who called it “great medicine water,” the superheated water that comes from deep underground contains a unique combination of minerals including: sodium, magnesium, calcium, strontium and lithium – which are believed to have therapeutic healing properties. It is the high lithium content in our waters that makes Halcyon Hot Springs BC’s premier healing hot spring destination. Long known for its antidepressant properties, a variety of studies have shown that lithium has potent anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, including the capacity to regenerate pathways in the brain. When taken in low doses, lithium has the potential to treat and prevent a wide range of neurological diseases, including: traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, chronic pain, depression and anxiety, as well as addictions.

Our water is so potent it was once bottled as a health tonic and shipped as far globally as London, England. “

Fairmont Hot Springs, located near Invermere, is a Resort-style property with  something for everyone. The RV park is now open year round. There’s a hotel, several restaurants, hot springs and a pool, activities such as golfing, skiing, hiking,  and skating. Fairmont Hot Springs Sunday brunch is delicious! We also highly recommend the Invermere Bakery and Kicking Horse Coffee.

Three great suggestions for your next British Columbia RV Adventure!
